Support SB Melanin

SB Melanin is a growing community rooted in connection, culture, and belonging. We are a space created for Black people in Santa Barbara to gather, build relationships, celebrate our culture, and support one another through meaningful social experiences.

As we continue to expand, we are currently raising funds for two important initiatives:

1. Our Non-Profit Filing

We are in the process of officially filing as a nonprofit organization. This step will allow SB Melanin to:

  • Apply for grants

  • Receive tax-deductible donations

  • Partner more formally with local organizations

  • Expand programming and long-term impact

Your donation helps cover filing fees, legal documentation, administrative costs, and the foundational structure needed to solidify SB Melanin as a sustainable organization.

2. Mixers & Special Events

Our monthly mixers and curated special events — such as paint & sips, brunch gatherings, and cultural celebrations — create safe and joyful spaces for connection.

Donations help us:

  • Secure venues

  • Provide light appetizers and refreshments

  • Purchase event supplies

  • Support culturally meaningful programming

  • Keep entry costs affordable for our community

Every dollar directly supports building intentional spaces where Black joy, networking, friendship, and collaboration can flourish in Santa Barbara.
